Lord of The Flies

So, we just finished reading William Golding's creepy classic, "Lord of The Flies."

Let's try to remember what happened in the story, and how those events came about. We know that the conch shell was important because of how it called together all the boys, but what would have happened if Piggy and Ralph never found the shell?

Also, we know that the boys vote for Ralph to be the leader, even though Jack really wants to be in charge. How do you think the story would be different is Jack had been voted as the leader? Would he be a good leader or not?

Do you have a favorite part of the story? What was it and why did you like it so much? What was your least favorite part of the story? What do you think could have happened to make it better? Post your ideas in the comments section and we'll discuss them in class!

If you don't quite remember parts of the book, you can check out this summary to pick events you think could have been written differently.

Introduction to Your Story

Hi there! I'm so happy you could make it! I'm also very excited to see what else you can make...

This blog will help us tell OUR stories. What does that mean? It means whatever you want it to mean! Allow me to explain:

We've been reading a lot of different books in school, most recently, "The Little Prince." Maybe you really liked that book, or maybe you thought it was boring and needed more action, or a different setting, or even a talking giraffe.

This blog is a place where you can write your OWN ideas about what you think should have happened. You can write whatever you want in the "comments" section, and each week in class we'll discuss some of your ideas!

Some rules for posting ideas:
-There is no such thing as a bad idea.
-No commenting on other student ideas until classroom discussion days.
-Your comments and ideas won't be graded, but your participation in classroom discussions is important.
-Read your classmate's comments! Maybe you have similar ideas!
-Comments should be about the book, not your classmates.

Do you have questions about this blog? Post them! Do you have questions about the books? Post them! This blog is for YOU and YOUR ideas. I can't wait to see what you have to say!
